Ann - focus on contrast and look at the level of darkness in your source image.
Brian - be disciplined with the direction and evenness of the lines of colours.
Brian - add more levels of black into the face to add depth and meaning.
Faith - draw as many figures as you can using this simple style
until you find your feet. Look to close-off the shapes using the outer edge "frame".
Karen - practice different hand movements and
ways of holding the pastel to leave pure colour on the surface.
Karen - as above comment. Try your Sennelier oil pastels on top of the Pentel oil pastels.
Len - make larger scale painting (A3) using the same pens as in this first study.
Linda - continue to look very closely at how Klimt freely combined many elements -
pattern, gold leaf, colour contrast, symbolism, "montage".
Margaret - develop all the colours in the shapes so they have equal depth of colour and tone.
Val - be ruthless in your cleanliness of pastel sticks to get the maximum
range (and subtlety) in the blended greens.
