Top picture shows real courage in the palette of colour used and the experimenting with mixing pastel with turpentine solution. The first dry marks of over painting with the pastel show this picture has much promise - really excited to see where this one goes. Bottom picture shows a complete contrast in feel but interestingly a similar use of contrasting marks to get the effect of depth.
