Weeks 3 and 4 Together

Here we can start to see a journey of discovery appearing as the edges become more clearly and deliberately worked and reworked. Zoom-in to see some of the exquisite qualities of the edges and all their variety from picture to picture. A joy to watch this whole-term project unfold. Compare the two weeks of work together (where the same picture is being worked on) as shown below to see how this is evolving.

EDGES: a beginning!

Ideas are still forming and explorations just beginning but looks like there will be a wonderful rich array of approaches to the concept of EDGES.

Black History Month October 2017

It's Black History month and a wonderful opportunity to consider and discover new-to-you artists and what their work represents. Click the image below to see a short list of artists from various art disciplines, some or all of whom you may not have come across before.

And don't forget to look again at our Art & EDI Pinterest Board "Art: Equality, Diversity & Inclusion" on the right...

Enjoy!

Welcome back to pastels!!

Well its been a long summer!

This term we will focus on a special element in painting - EDGES. We will explore this in our individual pastel paintings throughout the term. This will include technical sessions to refresh or learn new techniques.

Hopefully this will keep us all on the edges of our seats!

There is a new resources board (look to the right of the screen) "On the edge" for you to use either to stimulate ideas, to use as subject material for your paintings or just to enjoy and help you to find your own inspirations for this term's work.

We will work throughout the next 10 weeks including during the half term week. As usual there will be full briefing during the first session 5th October.

Let's explore!
